Making your first model

Choose General->Models->Add / Change / Delete.

Type model code 1999 and press OK.

You are now in the model window. Choose the menu option Item->Add Piece.

The mouse pointer has changed to + (crosshairs) and on the window title you can read: INDICATE BEGINNING POINT OF NEW PIECE.

Click with the left mouse button on the grid node 2-H. There is no problem if you don't exactly hit the nodes. They are only useful as a reference.

A small red point has appeared there and on the window title you can read:

INDICATE END OF LINE.

Click with the right mouse button on the grid node 2-E.

A red line has been drawn between both points and on the window title you can read again: INDICATE END OF LINE.

Click with the right button on the grid node 15-E.

Press Esc.

The mouse pointer has changed to its original shape. You are no longer drawing the model.

You have clicked with the right button instead of the left button because this way the program draws the lines in angles which are multiple of 45?. ( 45? , 90?, 135?.. ). If we want to draw such an angle, we can also use the left button, but we run the risk of making a small mistake, not drawing exactly that angle. The starting point of the piece ( 2-H in this case ) must be marked with the left button.

It is not necessary to click on the grid nodes. But in this tutorial we will use the grid co-ordinates because they are more convenient to give drawing instructions.

Choose Drawing-> Drawing General Properties.

Now you are in the General Data Window. Click on the Drawing button.

Now you are in the Drawing Window.

In the Mask field type:

ANGLE [1:1L] BY [1:2L]

Click on the OK button of the Drawing Window.

Click on the OK button of the General Data Window.

Choose File->Exit.

Answer Yes to the question: ? Do you want to save the information ?

Choose Order->New Order or press F4.

The order header window will appear.

Select the Project Code field with the mouse.

Type 1 in the Project Code field.

Press the Load Project button with the mouse. The project 1 data will appear on the window.

Fill the Order Description field with the description you prefer replica watches .

Fill the Order Number field with the number you prefer. It is not necessary to fill it.

Fill the Type field if you wish. It is not necessary to fill it.

Fill the Module field if you wish.

Press the OK button. The order detail window will appear. As it is a new order it only has one empty line.

So now the cell in the first row, first column (under the row caption ) is active. You must not change this cell, as it is automatically calculated by the program, so press Enter.

Type UNIT 1 in the Location column. Press Enter.

Press Enter twice to skip the Mac and Mark columns.

In the Model column, type 1999 and press Enter.

You are now in the drawing window with the model you have just created, and editing the first value of the piece.

Type 15. Press Enter.

In the second value type 180. Press Enter.

Press Enter again.

You are back in the order detail window in the Num column. This column is for the number of pieces.

As you see the Value column has been informed with what you typed in the Mask field when you created model 1999, replacing [1:1L] and [1:2L] with 15 and 180.

You filled the Mask field with:

ANGLE [1:1L] BY [1:2L]

And now you see in the Value column:

ANGLE 15 BY 180

[1:1L] means the value that represents the length ( L) of the first member (1L) of the first piece (1:).

[1:2L] means the value that represents the length ( L) of the second member (2L) of the first piece (1:).

In this case there's only one piece with two members in the drawing.

Type 22 in the Num column and press Enter.

In the following column type 12 and press Enter. That means 12 mm in diameter.

As you see ten new empty rows are added when you press Enter in the cell in the last row and last column. That's in case you want to enlarge the order. If you leave them empty they don't appear in the printed report and are not saved when you save the order. So you needn't delete them before printing or saving the order.

Choose Reports->Print Bar List with Drawings->Setting 2.

Press OK.

When it has finished printing, choose Reports->Print Labels->Setting 2.

Press OK.

As you see the drawing has been printed, not the mask. We are going to change that in the next chapter.

Choose File->Save changes and Exit.

Before making a new model it is advisable to draw it first on a paper with the same grid as is used in the model window.

This chapter is only an introduction to models.
